- Infocast iTV Capture 2.0 released
with Big Brother in Finland |

Infocast Systems today
released a new version of its innovative
interactive TV-scene capturing application
iTV Capture. ITV Capture 2.0 will be launched
later this month in a Finnish version of
the world famous reality-TV series Big Brother.
Infocast will showcase the Big Brother branded
iTV Capture service alongside its other
mobile solutions at the IBC Conference,
Amsterdam, on September 9–13. Infocast
will be present at IBC2005 with its international
partner, Alticast GmbH, on stand 1.341.
The Finnish version of Big Brother started
at the end of August and will run until
December 2005. iTV Capture is a great complement
to world-class TV formats, offering unique
interactive experiences to Finnish viewers
of the SubTV channel. Viewer-selected content
personalization and still images are key
features of the iTV Capture application.
Consumers will receive selected TV scenes
on their mobile devices with the opportunity
to personalize the delivered content with
talk bubbles and personal comments.
iTV Capture is a value-added consumer service
for MHP-based interactive TV that enables
personal capturing of TV content. Selected
highlights can be ordered via premium-SMS
messages and are delivered to the consumer’s
mobile devices as MMS still images or short
video clips. Version 2.0 has come up with
new consumer features such as zooming, personal
effects for TV pictures with frames and
add-on graphics, video support and enhanced
service configuration and management features.
iTV Capture 2.0 is an ideal interactive
TV consumer service for broadcasters and
content owners due to its compatibility
with various TV-format types.

Infocast Systems CEO Lari
Aho presented his views on sports related
cross-media content services to media industry
leaders in INCCOM seminar organized by Finpro
in Finland. The seminar was organized by
Finpro to promote collaboration between
Finnish and international media organizations
(e.g. Telefonica, Deutsche Welle, Siemens,
TeliaSonera).
Mr. Aho discussed about his views on business
opportunities lying in cross-media content
services, industry challenges and opportunities
and industry future trends. In addition
to his presentation Finpro made a case study
called “User generated content and
business generated revenues – A Heaven?
Case Infocast”.

a development partner in Finnish digital
TV cluster program ArviD |

Ministry of Transport
and Communications Finland has selected
Infocast to be one of the development partners
in Finnish digital TV cluster program ArviD.
Part of the cluster program focuses to new
service innovation development for digital
TV. Infocast will develop new version of
its innovative iTV Capture scene capturing
solution during this project.
Main objectives for the project are the
development of easy to use and experiential
digital TV service product, development
of business and commercial models and packaging
of the concept for international digital
TV markets.
Project started 15.12.2004 and will be completed
during summer 2005. New version of the product
will be first utilized in MTV3 channel as
a generic value added digital TV consumer
service during 2005.
About ArviD:
Ministry of Transport and Communications
Finland has launched ArviD, the Digital-TV
cluster programme to support the smooth
transition to the era of digital tv. The
ArviD programme promotes the use of the
digital-TV by:
- sponsoring development of service innovations
ranging from entertainment to business applications
- initiating cluster-wide measures to enhance
the basic conditions of service production
- creating a network for cluster-wide collaboration
The 2-year ArviD programme started on February
24th 2004. ArviD is open for all organisations
in digital-TV content context. Joining the
programme is free of charge.

premier on MTV3 Idols TV show
MTV3 extends use of iTV Capture product
to pop music contest series Idols. Idols
is a Finnish version of the original UK
format Pop Idol. iTV Capture is already
used in weekly ice hockey program Hockey
Night.

17.1.2003 Application for signing
digital TV applications
Broadcast Signing Engine (BSE)
has been released by Infocast Systems. BSE
is a tool for digital TV broadcasters and
application developers to digitally sign
MHP applications. BSE is open source code
and is freely available to anyone.
